South Africa are facing an anxious wait over the fitness of Andries Bekker and Bryan Habana ahead of their match with Argentina in Mendoza on Saturday.

Both have rolled their ankles and neither trained on Monday. The Boks are hopeful that both will be fit for their match against the Pumas with team doctor Craig Roberts saying that they will "make an assessment on their availability later in the week".

In related news, Bismarck Du Plessis will undergo surgery on Tuesday to try and rectify the serious damage to the ligaments in his right knee.

The original prognosis from Meyer was between six and seven months and Boks doctor Roberts claims that the surgery "will rule him out for the rest of the season as the usual rehabilitation for such an injury is up to eight months to come back from that".
