Saracens booked their place in the quarter-finals of the European Challenge Cup despite a fright from Italian side Viadana at Vicarage Road. The visitors lead 16-9 at half-time before Eddie Jones' men fought back to score three tries and seal the points with a 36-19 scoreline.

The last eight of the tournament will be dominated by English clubs with Sarries joining fellow qualifiers London Irish, Northampton Saints and Worcester Warriors with a match to spare. Steve Borthwick's team will travel to Mont de Marsan on Friday for their final Pool Five match with the carrot of booking home advantage in the quarter-finals.

Fly-half Glen Jackson, who went into the game with 50 points in the tournament, added another 21 with the boot to guide his side home. Jackson gave Saracens an early advantage with the first of his five penalties after just two minutes but Viadana hit back before Saracens took belated control.

Viadana notched a try through flanker Jaco Erasmus while Charles Hore and Garry Law notched nine and six points respectively with the boot.

Saracens wing Noah Cato got them back in the match with their first try before centre Kameli Ratuvou and wing Adam Powell also crossed to send their side through, the ever reliable Jackson doing the rest.
