1987
One of the best international matches of all time saw France beat Australia 30-24 in the World Cup semi-final in Sydney. With only a couple of minutes remaining, and the scores locked at 24-24, both sides were in all out attack mode, desperately looking for the win. With bodies lying strewn all over the pitch, France attacked down the right through Denis Charvet, before swinging play back left. Patrice Lagisquet made ground, before Laurent Rodriguez fed fullback Serge Blanco who out-paced four defenders to score in the corner. Didier Camberabero converted from the touchline to make it 30-24, and cap a sensational finish to an all-time classic World Cup match.

1959
The Lions scored five tries in a splendid display of open Test rugby to see off the Wallabies 24-3 in the last match of their short tour of Australia after winning the first Test 17-6. So poor was the weather that the teams took to the field ten minutes early so as not to keep the crowd waiting in such unpleasant conditions.

1981
Scotland made New Zealand struggle for an 11-4 win in their Test in Dunedin. Stu Wilson and Dave Loveridge scored the All Blacks' tries while Colin Deans touched down for Scotland.

1997
Neil Jenkins landed nine kicks out of 11 in the Lions 42-12 win against Natal in a match that was a dress rehearsal for the opening Test of the series a week later. The game was overshadowed by the dislocation of Rob Howley's shoulder in the sixth minute, ruling him out of the tour.

1928
The All Blacks touring South Africa gained confidence from a convincing 20-0 win against the Orange Free State in Kroonstad.

1956
The Springboks gained their first victory of the New Zealand leg of their tour Down Under, scraping through 3-0 against North Auckland at Whangarei.
