The New Zealand Rugby Union has announced 18 new players to be added to next year's Super 14 wider training groups.

A total of 35 players have been named in wider training groups for the five New Zealand franchises. The supplementary players named will act as back-up and provide injury cover for the full squads announced in Auckland last month.

Scrum-half Taniela Moa has found a route back to Super Rugby after not being selected in the draft. The Auckland regular is included in the Blues wider group along with North Harbour fly-half Mike Harris, who enjoyed a strong Air New Zealand Cup in 2009.
