Canada suffered their first defeat on their tour of Europe as they lost 22-15 to Georgia in Tbilisi.

Georgia's forwards did the damage for the hosts with a penalty try from a scrum and a touchdown from David Zirakashvili following a determined driving maul, giving them a 15-8 at half time. Lasha Malaguradze contributed a penalty and conversion while Jason Marshall crossed for Canada and James Pritchard added a penalty to keep the visitors in touch.

Georgia extended their lead after the break with Malkhaz Urjukashvili scoring from a chip and chase and replacement Merab Kvirikashvili adding the conversion. Aaron Carpenter touched down for Canada late on with Pritchard converting, but Georgia held on for the win in only the second clash between the two sides.

In Lisbon, Portugal beat Namibia 24-12 at the Estadio Universitario.

Portugal, without Cristian Spachuk , Lionel Campergue and Ivo Morais, upped their game in the second half after leading 12-9 at half time. Julien Brady and Goncalo Uva crossed for second half tries with Joe Gardener landing four penalties and a conversion. Eugene Jantjies struck four penalties for the visitors.
