Steven Luatua will cap his first year in international rugby by making a dream appearance for the Barbarians against Fiji at Twickenham on Saturday.

Luatua, who made 11 appearances for the All Blacks during the season, said he had wanted to be part of the Barbarians club since watching television of a match featuring some New Zealanders.

"I guess I was jealous in a sense and wondered how I could be a part of it," Luatua told RFU TV. "Now I'm finally here, it feels pretty special."

Luatua is under no illusions about the type of match he will experience as Fiji celebrate their centenary.

"Fiji have an open style of game and if that's what it comes down to - great," he said. "It's exactly how I like to play. You might see me on those tramlines as well sometimes."
