Kenya to play in South African domestic competition
February 7, 2014
Kenya's national team will join South Africa's domestic Vodacom Cup competition this year, replacing the Pampas XV from Argentina.
Kenya have made rapid progress in Sevens, reaching the semi-finals of the 2009 and 2013 World Cups, and they are trying to translate that form to the 15-man game.
South African Rugby Union chief executive Jurie Roux said "their Sevens team has been quite successful in the last few years and I'm sure the Kenyans will bring the same passion and skill to the Vodacom Cup".
The 16-team Vodacom Cup is the second tier of South African domestic competition below the Currie Cup.
