The Scarlets have bolstered their options on the wing with the signing of Michael Tagicakibau from Saracens.

Tagicakibau, 29, will bring a wealth of experience to the Welsh region having made 52 appearances for Saracens alongside spells at London Welsh, Bristol and Taranaki.

Scarlets head coach Simon Easterby, who has been strongly linked with the vacant Ireland forwards coaching post, said: "Michael will bring added experience and maturity to the squad; he has great line-breaking ability but more importantly he's an excellent defender which will complement some of the exciting attacking players we currently have in the back three.

"We have made it clear for some time that we are looking to strengthen our firepower out wide and with the addition of Michael, and Harry [Robinson], we believe that we will have a very destructive back three in amongst a powerful backline.

"Michael has international experience with Fiji and has experienced success with Sarries - we're looking forward to seeing him in action here at Parc y Scarlets and he will undoubtedly be a significant boost to the squad."
