Jeff Miller, assistant coach of the Wallabies team that won last year's World Cup, was named on Tuesday to head Australia's new Rugby Institute.

Miller's responsibilites will include looking after national junior teams as well as the senior Wallaby side and referees.

Australian Rugby Union managing director John O'Neill said the institute had been established to keep Australia on top of the world game.

"It's a huge task but Jeff is the right man for the job," O'Neill said.
