Christian Cullen's two tries against South Africa have put him within reach of Jeff Wilson's All Black try scoring record of 39.

The 24 year old Wellington full back has an extraordinary try scoring record.Making his debut in 1996 against Manu Samoa in Napier, he has now played in 46 tests and scored 37 tries. On Saturday he overtook Auckland winger John Kirwan and is just two tries short of Jeff Wilson's record. With two tests remaining in this season's Tri-Nations, against Australia in Wellington and South Africa in Johannesburg, followed by a November tour of France and Italy, Cullen has every chance of making the record his before the end of 2000.

Not that this appears to be bothering him too much. The laid - back Cullen said on Saturday, after the victory over the Springboks in Christchurch, ' I'm not too fussed about it. If it happens it happens. But it's no biggie.'
