Caledonians pass on skills

Glasgow Caledonians have launced an initiative that will see their professionals visiting clubs in the local area to pass on their rugby skills.

Starting this evening the entire Glasgow squad, including new signingfrom Australia, Nathan Ross will attend club training sessions at CarthaQueens Park, Hamilton and Hutchesons'/Aloysians rugby clubs. The squad willbe split into three and a Glasgow coach will accompany each group to thelocal venues.

Groups of ten players will attend each club's training, including Andy Nicoland Jon Petrie at Hamilton, Alan Bulloch and Donnie McFadyen atHutchesons'/Aloysians and Glenn Metcalfe and Andy Henderson at Cartha QueensPark RFC.

This Glasgow Caledonian initiative will be continued throughout the seasonand provides a valuable opportunity for local players to learn and developcore skills and techniques under the guidance of the professional team andcoaches. Players will also be given the opportunity to informally meet theplayers and coaches after each training session.

On Thursday (July 26) the team will travel to Greenock Wanderers, Glasgow Southern and Lenzie and Tuesday 31 July will see the players training atAyr, East Kilbride and Whitecraigs rugby clubs.

David Jordan, Chief Executive of Glasgow Caledonians said: "The players andcoaches are looking forward to engaging with the local clubs and sharingtheir training techniques and rugby experiences with players from manydifferent divisions".
