Sharks too good for Bulls
May 4, 2002

The Sharks were too strong for a game Bulls side in their Super 12 match at Loftus in Pretoria on Saturday, winning 23-10.

The Bulls did most of the attacking work in the first half, but the Sharks - uncharacteristically so - finished the stronger of the sides and tries by centre Rudi Keil (pictured) and wing Stefan Terblanche proved to be the difference in the end.

Good news for national coach Rudolf Straeuli was that Springbok lock Mark Andrews and centres Andre Snyman and Trevor Halstead played their first games without showing any signs of the injuries that kept them out for so long.

The Bulls are now in real danger of finishing the Super 12 competition without a single win. They are facing the Stormers in an away game at Newlands next Saturday. The Sharks play against the Cats in Durban.

Scorers:

Sharks - Tries: Rudi Keil, Stefan Terblanche; Conversions: Gaffie du Toit (2); Penalties: Du Toit (3).

Bulls - Try: Giscard Pieters; Conversion: Jaco van der Westhuyzen; Penalty: Van der Westhuyzen.
