Galthie ruled out of tour
June 4, 2002

Scrum half and captain Fabien Galthie and centre Clement Poitrenaud have withdrawn from France's tour of Argentina and Australia.

Galthie, from the Stade Francais club, is struggling with a long-term ankle injury and will be replaced by Toulouse's Frederic Michalak.

Poitrenaud, from Toulouse, has been replaced by Colomiers' Yannick Jauzion due to a shoulder injury.

Also, Olivier Magne could miss the tour for disciplinary reasons. He will find out on Wednesday whether he will be suspended following foul play during Montferrand's 31-12 Championship semi-final loss to Biarritz.

No decision has been taken on who will skipper the touring side.

France meets Argentina in Buenos Aires on June 15 and meets the Wallabies in Melbourne on June 22, and then in Sydney the following week.
