Wales unveil World Cup build-up
June 10, 2002

Wales have announced how they will prepare for next year's World Cup.

They will welcome both England and Ireland to the Millennium Stadium and they travel to Scotland to take on Scotland.

The games are scheduled to take place in August next year, with Welsh Rugby Union officials also looking at an away fixture against Romania.

It means that both England and Ireland will visit Cardiff twice in 2003, as they also face Millennium Stadium Six Nations encounters during February and March respectively.

The England World Cup warm-up clash is pencilled in for August 23, and WRU chairman Glanmor Griffiths said: "I wanted the game in Cardiff, and I am delighted that England have agreed.

"It is good that we will be playing England, Scotland and Ireland as our warm-ups. It is what Steve Hansen (Wales coach) wants."

Wales, currently in South Africa preparing for next Saturday's second Test against the Springboks, have been drawn alongside New Zealand at rugby union's 2003 global spectacular.
