Edwards agrees new deal with Wasps

Shaun Edwards has agreed a new two-year contract to stay on as defensive coach at Wasps.

He will continue to work alongside head coach Warren Gatland as Wasps attempt to build on their impressive end-of-season performances after moving into their temporary home at Wycombe.

"Shaun has a great working relationship with Warren and the rest of the team," said Wasps chief executive Alistair McLean.

"He is rated very highly here and we are delighted he has agreed to stay."

Meanwhile, Wasps could be set to experiment with Friday night games next season - although the majority of their home games at Adams Park will be played on the club's traditional Sunday afternoon slot.

The clashes with London outfits Harlequins and Saracens have been targeted as having the potential to bring in a bumper crowd on Fridays as the club continues to lay down its roots after leaving Loftus Road for the next two years.

"We have been very pleased with the response of our existing season ticket holders to the move," added McLean.

"The initial feeling is very positive and while obviously we acknowledge that not everyone will follow us to Wycombe, we hope to make an impact in a new area.

"We have developed a healthy relationship with Wycombe Wanderers and there will be a joint marketing initiative between us as well as an open day at Adams Park on June 16."
