Tait ruled out for Cardiff
December 4, 2002

Canadian international John Tait will miss Cardiff's Heineken Cup clash at Northampton on Saturday because of a shoulder injury.

Tait, whose place in the second row goes to Adam Jones, is awaiting results of a scan.

Cardiff coach David Young has made one other change from the side that staged a thrilling fightback to defeat Celtic League quarter-final opponents Edinburgh last weekend.

Back row man Rob Appleyard has recovered after illness sidelined him for the Scotland trip, so he returns to the starting XV and Emyr Lewis drops out.

Former Wales and Lions prop Young remains in the front row, given Cardiff's lengthy injury list in that department, and knows that his team must win, following successive Pool Six defeats against Biarritz and Ulster that left quarter-final hopes hanging by a thread.
