Gloucester seek compensation for Simpson-Daniel
December 5, 2002

Zurich Premiership leaders Gloucester are reportedly to seek compensation from the RFU to cover James Simpson-Daniel's likely two-month absence from the game with glandular fever.

In what will be a test case, The Times reports that the club will argue that Simpson-Daniel probably contracted the illness while on England duty during November and that the RFU's insurance should therefore pay his wages at Kingsholm -- in the region of £10,000 -- for the period for which he is unavailable to them.
