Blues too good for Waratahs

The Blues opened their 2003 Super 12 account with a convincing 31-18 triumph over the Waratahs in Sydney.

The New Zealanders ran in four tries to earn a bonus point in a bright opening to their season.

They led 26-6 with seven minutes remaining before the Waratahs awoke from their slumber to post two quick tries.

However, Blues replacement David Gibson scored a runaway try in the closing seconds to secure the win and bonus point for the Blues.
