The Pacific Islanders wing Napolioni Nalaga, who was sent off during the match against France on Saturday, was suspended today for 22 days after a Six Nations Disciplinary Committee upheld the red card but deemed the player's challenge on Jean-Baptiste Elissalde to be reckless rather than intentional.

The Committee, chaired by Antony Davies (England) and also comprising George Spotswood (Ireland) and Mike Rafter (England), classed the offence in the mid range of the IRB table of sanctions and took into account several mitigating factors in favour of the player.

The suspension ends at midnight on Sunday December 7, 2008, with the player able to play again on December 8, 2008.
