  • England will almost certainly be without centre Riki Flutey for their November Tests after it was revealed that he faces three months on the treatment table with a shoulder injury.

An examination of the British & Irish Lion's left shoulder revealed the extent of the damage, which has restricted him to one Top 14 appearance for his new club Brive this season. England will play Tests against Australia, Argentina and New Zealand in November.

"The surgeon has concluded, in conjunction with the England and Brive medical teams that Riki will be unavailable for a period of up to three months and therefore it is unlikely that he will be able to prepare or take part in England's internationals in November," an RFU statement read.

  • Bayonne have pulled out of talks with former Australia wing Lote Tuqiri due to his financial demands. Tuqiri was controversially sacked from his Australian Rugby Union contract and Waratahs deal in July and has been in linked with several French clubs and a return to rugby league.

"Following the latest financial demands of Lote Tuqiri, Bayonne have decided to bring talks with the Australian player to an end," the Top 14 club said in a statement.

  • Jean de Villiers has been cleared by Western Province and the South African Rugby Union to join Munster immediately.

The centre has recently played a pivotal role in the Springboks' run to the Tri-Nations title and will arrive at the Magners League champions for a medical on Thursday September 17 rather than return to Currie Cup duty.

"We are obviously sad to be losing Jean," said Western Province managing director Rob Wagner. "As a captain and a player he has contributed significantly both on and off the pitch. Whilst we did everything in our power to retain his services, Jean has made up his mind to join the great Irish club Munster.

"Western Province Rugby is sorry he is departing, but we thank him for all that he has done for and meant to Western Province and the Stormers and hope to see him back in the future. We wish him all of the very best with Munster."

  • England may head in to their November Tests without fullback Delon Armitage after he picked up a suspected dislocated shoulder in London Irish's 40-10 Guinness Premiership win over Gloucester on Sunday.

Exiles boss Toby Booth confirmed that the extent of the injury is not yet known and that Armitage would undergo a scan on Monday. England face Australia, Argentina and New Zealand in Tests beginning with the Wallabies' visit to Twickenham on November 7.

"Delon is a tough cookie so he will front it out. I have no idea how long he'll be out," said Booth. "Losing Delon for any amount of time would be massive, he's an international fullback and we want him on the pitch. Touch wood it's not too serious and we'll get him back soon."

  • Promising winger Zac Guildford has agreed a move to the Crusaders for next season's Super 14. Guildford leaves the Hurricanes but will continue to represent Hawke's Bay in the Air New Zealand Cup.

He starred at New Zealand's victorious U20 World Championship victory earlier this year and his acquisition has been praised by Crusaders boss Todd Blackadder.

"Zac is an exciting player and has the right character to do very well with the Crusaders. He has aspirations to achieve higher honours and has all the key attributes to make it," he said. "He has a great work ethic and is very down to earth. He will be a fantastic addition to our team."

  • Leicester could be without Ben Woods for the foreseeable future after the openside suffered a suspected broken foot during the victory over Harlequins at the Stoop on Saturday. Lewis Moody, who missed the game with a tweaked hamstring, is in line to cover.

"Ben may well have broken his foot," head coach Richard Cockerill told the Leicester Mercury. "He will get an X-ray and we will see how he is."

Tigers have also agreed terms with Argentina wing Lucas Gonzalez Amorosino. Amorosino made his international debut against England this summer and has now agreed to move to Welford Road following a trial.

"We've agreed terms so that will be finalised this week," Cockerill told BBC Radio Leicestershire. "He's a young lad with a lot of talent."

  • Leeds Carnegie are sweating on the fitness of skipper Marco Wentzel ahead of Sunday's Guinness Premiership meeting with London Irish. The lock picked up an elbow injury early on in the loss to Worcester at Sixways on Friday.

  • The Scarlets have received clearance from Carmarthenshire County Council to erect the old posts from Stradey Park on a roundabout near to their new Parc y Scarlets home.

The other posts will eventually be placed close to the site of Stradey, with the possibility of a charity fun run taking place between the two markers in aid of the Ray Gravell memorial charity.
