Sale Sharks skipper Sam Tuitupou has his sights set on a top four finish and is looking for his side to play a more expansive brand of rugby next season.

The centre joined Sale last summer and helped lead the Sharks to sixth spot in the Aviva Premiership last season. But with Sale under new boss Bryan Redpath and with marquee signings such as Richie Gray and Danny Cipriani added to their squad, Tuitupou, who is currently sidelined with a thumb injury, believes a top four finish is what his side should be aiming for.

"We want to improve on how we went last year so we're looking at top four and winning a few games in the Heineken Cup," Tuitupou told the BBC. "We've got a tough pool but they look beatable at home for us so we're looking forward to putting on some good performances."

With Redpath at the helm of the Sharks, the centre hopes that he can replicate the exciting brand of rugby that he oversaw at Gloucester up at the Sharks. "He's got a running game and he loves to attack and that is exactly how we want to play," Tuitupou said. "We've got a lot of young boys out wide and a lot of speed and we want to score heaps of tries this year.

"You saw the last few years the way Gloucester have been playing, they've always been using their running backs, and that is what we're looking to use with all the talent in our backline."
