Ian McGeechan has made six changes and one positional switch to the starting XV that will face Sale Sharks at Adams Park on Sunday.

Following his first start of the season against Harlequins last weekend, summer signing Lachlan Mitchell, moves to full back, with Mark Van Gisbergen starting in the centre alongside Josh Lewsey.

On the wing, academy player Chris Bishay will make his season debut in place of Mossy Lawler, named alongside a new pairing of Joe Simpson and Dave Walder at nine and ten.

Academy starlet Simpson, nominated for the IRB Young Player of the Year Award at this Sunday's IRB Awards, will make his first start with the senior side this season following two tries in two starts from the bench in 2008/09 - including a superb individual effort at The Stoop last weekend.

In the forwards, Tom French comes into the front row in place of Tim Payne, called to England alongside eight of his club mates for this weekend's clash with South Africa. French is joined by club captain Raphael Ibanez who replaces Rob Webber who takes a seat on the bench. The only other change in the pack sees Dan Leo move to the starting line up in place of John Hart, named among the replacements which this weekend include new signing Damien Varley and Michael Holford.

Looking ahead to the game McGeechan said, "Sale are a strong side who are always in the mix and we know it will be a challenging game on Sunday. They have provided us with some of our most competitive games over the seasons and it will be key for us to rediscover the consistency we have shown in our last two home games which saw wins over Castres and Newport.

"Last weekend at The Stoop was disappointing for us, particularly in the first half, and we have worked hard in training this week to address this and we will be looking to the game positively, focused on our own performance."

Sale have been able to include Eifion Roberts and Jason White after they were released by Wales and Scotland respectively. Mathew Tait will take a place on the replacements bench.

Sale's Director of Rugby Philippe Saint Andre said, "This is a big game for both clubs. We are both missing several players however, we have received a boost this week with Jason White, Eifion Roberts and Mathew Tait returning. Everyone at the club is disappointed with our current form and the way we lost to Worcester Warriors last Friday and we are keen to draw a line under it and get our season back on track as soon as possible."
