Glasgow's Heineken Cup hopes have been dealt a big blow with knee injuries to first-choice half-backs Dan Parks and Mark McMillan ruling the pair out of Sunday's make-or-break clash at Bath.

The loss of their influential duo is a huge blow to the Warriors, who must win this weekend to stand any realistic hope of reaching the quarter-finals after losing their opening two Pool Five games. Scotland fly-half Parks is replaced by 20-year-old Ruaridh Jackson, who will start at stand-off for the first time in his professional career.

Jackson, who captained Scotland Under-20s last season, admitted he had huge shoes to fill. "Dan Parks' kicking is pretty special and I'm really enjoying being able to work alongside him and learn from him every day," he said. "He's a pretty mentally strong guy; he never really lets things get to him too much.

"Another thing is his organisational skills. He's a great communicator on the pitch and that's something I've paid particular attention to. I'm really looking forward to my first big chance at 10, especially in the Heineken Cup."

Head coach Sean Lineen added: "Ruaridh has been involved in just about all our games so far this season and I've been very impressed with his attitude. I've always rated him very highly. He has a great temperament and wants to be the best he can be."

Scrum-half McMillan, who was part of the Scotland squad for last month's autumn internationals, is replaced by Colin Gregor. There are two further personnel changes from the side which whitewashed Cardiff Blues 28-0 last Friday, a result which lifted Glasgow up to second in the Celtic League.

Prop Kevin Tkachuk and flanker John Barclay return following international duty with Canada and Scotland, respectively, whilst Kelly Brown moves from openside to the blindside. Jose Maria Nunez Piossek, Argentina's all-time record points scorer, is named on the bench, from where he is poised to make his Warriors debut.

With the international players back at The Rec, the Bath team is bolstered by Michael Lipman, who leads the side, and Matt Stevens goes straight in the starting line up. Michael Stephenson makes a return at wing, with Tom Cheeseman and Eliota Fuimaono-Sapolu in the centre.
