Promising prop Alex Corbisiero has committed his future to London Irish by signing a two-year contract extension until the end of the 2010-11 season.

Corbisiero, born in New York, has represented England at U20 level since joining the London Irish academy in 2005. He was an integral part of England's run to the IRB Junior World Championship final in 2008 and made his Premiership debut in August 2008. Corbisiero has gone on to make 14 appearances, scoring on three occasions.

His powerful performances earned him a call-up into the England Saxons squad in January 2009.

"Alex is widely regarded as one of the best up and coming English players," said Toby Booth, London Irish head coach. "He is a joy to work with and we look forward to developing him to his full potential to reach the dizzy heights of our other home grown players that are already playing for England. We are delighted to have him commit his future with us."

Corbisiero is excited to be a part of the Exiles setup, and will have his eye on following fellow academy graduates Delon and Steffon Armitage into the full England setup.

"I am very excited about being a part of this London Irish squad going forward. We have such a talented squad with a lot of world class players in it and have a real chance of winning some silverware over the next few seasons."
