London Irish have enlisted the help of World Cup-winning Springbok coach Jake White as they seek to arrest their recent slide.

The Exiles secured their first win in 11 games with a hard-fought Heineken Cup victory over the Ospreys at the Madejski Stadium last weekend and head coach Toby Booth has opted to bring in some outside help in the form of White, who has also been linked with the vacant role of performance director at the RFU.

White arrived in London on Tuesday and will spend the week with Irish in a consultancy role before travelling with the squad to take on Munster at Thomond Park on Saturday.

"After a surprisingly bad run, Toby and the CEO Andy Martin approached me and asked if I could help," White told rugbyxv.co.za.

"I'll spend a week with the club and will be able to provide an outside and objective viewpoint. It also provides me with an opportunity to see the inner workings of the club, and having being involved in similar stints with Saracens, Toulon and Suntory before, that should be interesting to compare."
