Saracens have signed South African utility back Tiger Bax on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

The 22-year-old has previously represented Western Province and the Stormers and has recently been turning out for UCT in the Varsity Cup.

"It's a fantastic opportunity for me. Everybody in SA rugby is aware of what's happening at Saracens, and I am determined to take this opportunity," he said.

Bax will make his bow in English rugby in Saracens Storm's friendly meeting with Northampton on Monday night, starting at outside-centre.

Also in action will be former Springbok prop Deon Carstens, who is continuing his recovery from shoulder surgery.
