Northampton lock Courtney Lawes declared himself fit for England's Six Nations clash with Scotland after completing 80 minutes for the first time in two months.

The 22-year-old produced a solid display in the Saints' Aviva Premiership defeat to Exeter after a lengthy absence with a knee injury.

That problem forced him out of the reckoning for the start of Grand Slam-chasing England's opening Championship victories over Wales, Italy and France with the second row pairing of Tom Palmer and Louis Deacon earning rave reviews. But Lawes is still hoping to make an impact at the back end of the tournament.

Team manager Martin Johnson may be looking for reinforcements in the pack, with Simon Shaw struggling with a groin strain, and Lawes is ready to answer any calls.

"If he (Johnson) wants me, I`m ready," he told The Times. "There's no doubts, the knee is sweet. I thought I had a pretty good game [against Exeter], carried OK. I do feel like I am back up to speed. I am a bit tired, but I feel good."

Of England's 100% record so far, he added, "Of course you wish you were there, but I am just glad for the boys. Two more wins and you know what that means."
