Sale Sharks flanker David Seymour has committed his future to the Aviva Premiership club by signing a new two-year deal that will keep him at Edgeley Park until 2013.

The 26-year-old, currently sidelined with a shoulder injury, joined Sale from Saracens in the summer of 2009 and has recently been re-united with Sharks executive director of sport Steve Diamond who nurtured his early progress when he was director of rugby at Saracens.

Diamond said he was delighted at securing the services of another key part of his forward armoury for next season and beyond. "I discovered David playing local rugby in my time at Saracens and know just what a good player he is," said the Sale supremo. "He never gives less than 100% and fits in perfectly with the culture that I am creating at Sale Sharks."

For his part, the High Wycombe-born adopted Northerner admitted he was more than happy to extend his stay in Manchester. "I am delighted to commit to Sale Sharks for another two years," said Seymour. "I worked with Steve Diamond at Saracens and like the way that he coaches. have been working hard in rehab and should be back in contention in the next couple of weeks."
