Exeter will face a disciplinary hearing next week after they admitted to fielding too many overseas players in an Aviva Premiership game against Leeds.

The hearing had been scheduled for Wednesday but was moved to ensure Exeter chief executive Tony Rowe, who is currently out of the country, could attend. The club are now waiting to hear from the Rugby Football Union (RFU) about the exact date.

Premiership clubs are only allowed to include two players from outside of Europe, Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific islands in their 23-man match-day squads, meaning that the Chiefs face being docked league points for naming three overseas-registered players for the defeat at Headingley on April 3.

Meanwhile, three players have agreed new deals at Sandy Park. Samoan lock Chad Slade and South African centre Bryan Rennie have both agreed new one-year contracts, while scrum-half Junior Poluleuligaga has extended his stay by a further two years.
