Saracens have bolstered their attacking options for next season with the signing of former Bath wing Joe Maddock.

The 32-year-old New Zealander spent the last year with Benetton Treviso, previously playing 96 Premiership games for Bath and finishing as the league's top try-scorer in the 2009-10 season.

Maddock will provide valuable cover as Saracens are likely to lose England winger David Strettle and USA international Chris Wyles for the duration of the Rugby World Cup, while Noah Cato has agreed a deal with Northampton.

"I am delighted to be returning to England, and to be joining the champions," Maddock said. "I visited the Saracens training ground recently and anybody can see there is a real determination to build a happy, successful and special club, on and off the field. I can't wait to join the family."

Sarries director of rugby Mark McCall added: "Joe was universally admired as the leading try-scorer in the Premiership and he will bring proven talent, personality and a voice to our backline."
