London Irish have added to their backrow options for next season with the signing of Welsh U20 Edward Siggery.

Siggery, who is currently touring with the Wales U20s in Italy at the Junior World Championship, has already taken caps for Wales at U16 and U18 level. He has featured in both matches of the Junior World Championship, starting at blindside. He joins London Irish from the Scarlets having turned out for three regional clubs, Llanelli, Carmarthen Quins, Llandovery and also Cardiff Blues region Pontypridd.

Siggery is understandably delighted with the move and will look forward to lining up for the Exiles next season. "Moving to London Irish is a positive step for me. Quite a few of the young lads at the club made a big impact last season and I hope to do the same when I join next season," Siggery said.

Siggery will be working under London Irish academy manager Neal Hatley and Hatley is excited by his latest recruit's potential. "Ed will be a good addition to our squad for next season," Hatley said. "The competitive rugby he has played in the Welsh Premiership will prepare him for the step up to Aviva Premiership Rugby."
