Scotland will go into their Rugby World Cup opener with Romania hoping to repeat their two previous tournament victories over the Oaks.

The Scots claimed a 55-28 victory in Dunedin during the inaugural World Cup in 1987 thanks largrely to a hat-trick from John Jeffrey and followed that with a 42-0 success at Murrayfield during the 2007 tournament where Ally Hogg also bagged three tries.

The two sides first met back in 1981 and played out an uninspiring 12-6 win in favour of the Scots. Romania's first win came three years later in 1984 when they despatched Scotland 28-22. Scotland dominate the all-time statistics with 10 victories in their 12 previous meetings.
