Former England under-20 captain Luke Eves has left Newcastle Falcons to rejoin Bristol Rugby with immediate effect.

The 22-year-old returns to his hometown club after making 40 appearances for Newcastle during his two years on Tyneside. Originally an academy graduate at Bristol, he played 59 matches and scored 10 tries for the West Country club moving to the North East.

Eves said: "I've enjoyed my time [at Newcastle] greatly and will miss all of the lads but being back at the club where I grew up is a great opportunity for me and I feel this is the right place to continue my development.

"There's no better stadium than the Memorial Stadium. The fans are close to the pitch and they are so vocal and passionate. If I get the opportunity to play in the first team I'll be delighted and I will give go out and give 100%.

"I won't hold anything back and I want to help the team to be successful in whatever way I can."
