Leicester winger Alesana Tuilagi has confirmed that he will be leaving the Tigers at the end of the current season after admitting that he is readying himself for an emotional farewell.

Tuilagi has been at the Tigers since 2004 and has become a key part of their attacking arsenal. Weighing in at 18-and-a-half stone and playing on the wing, Alesana has scored 44 tries in 105 games for the Premiership side. While younger brother and England star Manu will continue to turn out for the Tigers, Alesana looks set to switch to Japan.

In an interview Alesana admitted that it will be "very sad" when he plays his final game at Welford Road.

"It's very sad that I'm leaving the club, [and] leaving Manu," Alesana told BBC Radio Leicester. "Making the decision was really tough, but it's a good opportunity for me and my family.

"I've been here ages. I'm used to the area and the club, and I feel comfortable playing at Welford Road.

"I've been thinking about my final game for a long time. And it's not just about leaving Manu. I've known a few of the boys for a long time. We've been playing together and having fun together for a while, so it's very sad."
