Gloucester have signed Cornish Pirates' New Zealand-born fly-half Jonny Bentley.

Bentley, 26, has spent four years with the Pirates but has made only four appearances over the last two season because of injury. Gloucester want him as cover for Freddie Burns.

"I felt it was important to add another specialist No. 10 to the squad and Jonny's a very polished performer," director of rugby Nigel Davies told the BBC. "I know he can't wait to get up here and show what he can do, and I think he's going to be a valuable contributor for us."
