Leicester Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill will appear before a Rugby Football Union disciplinary panel on July 1 following his alleged outburst during last season's Aviva Premiership final at Twickenham.

Cockerill was charged with "conduct prejudicial to the interests of the game" in the wake of his side's victory over Northampton in the title-decider after an altercation with fourth official Stuart Terheege where he is alleged to have 'used obscene, inappropriate and/or unprofessional language and behaviour'.

The Leicester boss appeared to be incensed by a late tackle from Northampton's Courtney Lawes on the Tigers' Toby Flood that ended the fly-half's game prematurely. The tackle was punished with a penalty by referee Wayne Barnes with Cockerill reportedly adamant that it warranted a yellow card.
