Digby Ioane is reportedly homesick and in talks with Wallabies coach Ewen McKenzie about an early return to Australia, less than a season into a profitable two-year deal with Stade Francais.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald the former Queensland Reds winger is apparently struggling with adapting to life in France, but it remains to be seen whether his former side or another Australian franchise would be able to fit him into their plans for the 2015 season.

Ioane is reportedly on a figure close to $1.5 million in Paris, a sum unlikely to be matched by any potential Super Rugby suitor.

Reds coach Richard Graham has left the door open, but whether the power players within Queensland rugby would rubber stamp his return is another matter. New South Wales Waratahs coach Michael Cheika is a big fan but has a full payroll with Kurtley Beale now on board, Western Force are unlikely to chase both Ioane and James O'Connor, while the Brumbies are reportedly not interested. Melbourne Rebels would seem a likely fit, given Ioane was born on the Victorian capital, however new coach Tony McGahan's emphasis on discipline could make that prospect unlikely.
