Saracens' Kameli Ratuvou was this evening banned for five weeks for a dangerous tackle on Gloucester Rugby's Iain Balshaw during the Guinness Premiership semi-final on May 5.

The wing, who was yellow-carded by referee Wayne Barnes following the incident, is suspended from May 12 (date of Saracens receiving citing) to June 15 2007. He can play again on June 16 2007.

Ratuvou, who was charged with an offence contrary to 10.4 (e) after a report from the independent citing officer Budge Pountney, appeared before a Rugby Football Union disciplinary panel of Jeremy Summers (chairman), Peter Budge and Julian Morris at the London Bloomsbury Holiday Inn.
