Wasps have completed the signing of second row forward Ed O'Donoghue from Leinster.

The former Ireland 'A' international lock, who can also play flanker, has already joined up with his new team-mates and begun training at the Aviva Premiership club.

"Wasps is a great club with a lot of history," O'Donoghue, who was born in London, said. "With a relatively new group of players and coaching staff this is a great opportunity for me to be part of a club moving in a good direction."

Wasps director of rugby Dai Young added: "Ed has got a lot of experience in some quality rugby environments and he will be a good addition to the squad."

Prior to Leinster, O'Donoghue spent two years at Ulster. He has also had spells at Queensland Reds, Northampton and Worcester. He has played twice for Ireland, in uncapped games against the Barbarians and New Zealand Maoris.
