Bath Rugby have brought in USA Eagles hooker Chris Biller on a short-term contract.

The West Country side are currently in the midst of a crisis in the hooker department with Lee Mears out for three months, Pieter Dixon also on the sidelines and Ross Batty injured in their 16-13 win over Montpellier last Sunday and Sir Ian McGeechan has acted quickly to bolster that area of the front-row. And Biller brings a wealth of experience to the role having amassed 16 caps for the Eagles and he featured three times during the 2011 World Cup.

Mark Lilley starts for Bath against Worcester on Friday evening but Biller will be thrust into first-team action sooner rather than later. And McGeechan is looking forward to Biller bringing his experience to the position.

"We have been unlucky with the injuries we've sustained, but to have someone of Chris' ability available to us is great," McGeechan said. "He's a good strong player, who has played to a very high level, and we're looking forward to him adding to the experience we have within the squad."
