Melbourne Rebels fly-half Danny Cipriani has played down reports that he has put pen to paper on a contract with the Sale Sharks ahead of next season. The 24-year-old is said to have agreed a deal to join the Aviva Premiership side - according to reports last week - but Cipriani, although admitting he has his heart set on an England recall, has claimed that he will take his time deciding whether to make the switch saying: "I'm not too concerned about that. I've got a couple of weeks to decide". Cipriani will line up for the Melbourne Rebels next Friday in their first match of the new Super Rugby season and he has claimed that the carrot of an England recall is reason enough to curb the off-field behaviour which blighted his first season with the Australian franchise. "I've got extra motivation this year to make sure I get in the England side and to really improve on my performances from last year," Cipriani said. "I'm not going to change too much. Mistakes happen and stuff gets glamorised in the press. "As journalists, it's their job. I don't hold any grudges because it's their job. But when you know the truth of the situation and the club and your friends do, then it's not so bad. "This year, we've got a very tight group. There's a lot of things we're going to do and we're going to do them together. When we go off-field, we're going to make sure it's all as a team." © ESPN Sports Media Ltd.
