ESPN have announced that this season's Aviva Premiership final will be the first to be broadcast in 3D.

Harlequins tackle Northampton Saints and Leicester Tigers face Saracens in this weekend's semi-finals with the winners set to go head-to-head for English club rugby's top prize at Twickenham on May 26. The showpiece event will be broadcast exclusively by ESPN and in a ground-breaking move, the game will also be available in 3D in the UK for Sky 3D customers.

The popular ESPN team of host Mark Durden-Smith, analysts Austin Healey and Ben Kay, commentator Nick Mullins and pitchside reporter Sarra Elgan are set to be joined by England and Sale wing Mark Cueto and former Worcester Warriors captain Pat Sanderson for the season finale.

Before the final, ESPN will have exclusive live coverage of the semi-final between the Tigers and Saracens at Welford Road. Both games mark the culmination of ESPN's second season broadcasting the Premiership.

Jeroen Oerlemans, vice president, TV Channels ESPN, EMEA said: "We're really looking forward to bringing fans two of the biggest rugby matches on the calendar. This year ESPN has built on a great first season of Aviva Premiership Rugby coverage, continuing to offer fans a unique perspective on the game with authority and personality."
