London Welsh's appeal hearing concerning the minimum standards criteria necessary for promotion to the Aviva Premiership has been moved to June 28.

Welsh were originally going to find out their fate on June 21 but that has now been postponed by a week to "accommodate all parties". The venue for the hearing is yet to be confirmed but the delay is unlikely to suit either the Exiles or the Newcastle Falcons.

A host of Premiership clubs arrived back at pre-season training on Monday and with the Falcons and London Welsh still unsure of what division they'll be in next season then it is likely that this will affect their preparations.

In related news, London Welsh have announced the capture of former Bath and Northampton Saints No.8 Dan Browne. Commenting on joining London Welsh, Browne said: "London Welsh have performed really well over the last couple of years in the Championship and it's great to join a team that's playing so well.

"The style of rugby they play is really good, it suits the way I play and hopefully I can fit in. Following the Championship and seeing what London Welsh have achieved, it's a great opportunity. I spoke to a few players who'd worked with Lyn [Jones] and you can see the way London Welsh play reflected in the way he coaches. I think it will great to get on board with the boys there."
