London Wasps have announced the capture of former London Irish, Gloucester and Bristol winger James Bailey.

Bailey arrives at Wasps from France PROD2 side Lyon after turning out in the Top 14 Orange last term. With a wealth of experience in England's top-flight, Wasps boss Dai Young is hoping Bailey utilises this in the Aviva Premiership.

Young said: "We've got a lot of talent in our back-three but we have been looking to add depth to our squad out wide for some time and James arrives with solid experience at this level."

Bailey is Wasps' second signing from Lyon with Lee Thomas also joining and he is looking forward to running out in the Premiership once again. Bailey said: "I thoroughly enjoyed my time in France but I always knew that I wanted to return to the English game at some point so I jumped at the opportunity to join such a prestigious club as London Wasps.

"Hopefully I can play an important role in the squad and help the club achieve their goals."
