Gloucester have received a boost ahead of Thursday's Amlin Challenge Cup quarter-final against Biarritz with the news that nine of their players have re-signed with the club.

The Aviva Premiership side announced earlier this season hat Jonny May and Tom Savage have opted to extend their stay at Kingsholm while they have confirmed that James Hudson and Matt Kvesic will join the club ahead of next term. And alongside May and Savage, a host of players have also decided to re-sign.

Gloucester stalwart Andy Hazell, who made his debut for the club back in the 1997-98 season, has penned a new deal while veteran second-row Will James and front-row Nick Wood have also extended their contracts. And fellow front-rowers Koree Britton, Dan Murphy and Yann Thomas have all re-signed.

They are joined by Gareth Evans, Dan Robson and Shane Monahan in committing their respective futures to Gloucester. And Cherry and Whites boss Nigel Davies was delighted with the news. "I'm very pleased with the way that the squad is shaping up for next season," Davies said. "The players named today are a real mixture of those with potential for the future, and a number with considerable first team experience.

"They've all played a part for Gloucester so far this season, and each and every one is the kind of individual we want at the club. They've all bought into what we're hoping to achieve here at Gloucester, and it's good to know that they'll be with us next season.

"We've created a real sense of unity and purpose at the club over the past few months. There will be a lot of continuity in the squad from this season to next, and that can only help in the development of this group of players."
