Gareth Evans faces six-month lay-off

Gloucester back-row forward Gareth Evans could be out for up to six months with a knee injury sustained during last weekend's defeat by Bath.

Gloucester coach Nigel Davies told the BBC it was probably a ligament injury and was "pretty serious". He continued: "It is very disappointing for him because he has been fabulous. He can't have been far away from international honours. He can, at this stage, play for Scotland, Wales or England. It's a real shame."

Evans, who received a new contract at the beginning of the month, was injured in a tackle for which Bath's Matt Garvey was shown a yellow card.
