England captain Chris Robshaw has signed a new contract with Harlequins keeping him at the club for "many years to come".

Robshaw, 29, skippered England in their recent World Cup campaign and has been a stalwart for Harlequins making over 200 appearances for the club. He captained them to their 2012 Aviva Premiership triumph and is delighted to have prolonged his stay at the club.

"I am honoured to have re-signed with Harlequins, a team I've supported my whole life," Robshaw said. "The club feels like an extended family to me with its amazing players, management and supporters.

"I'm looking forward to seeing what the future holds for the club and I'm extremely excited to keep pushing for silverware with both Harlequins and England. I would like to thank all of the supporters for their continued support and look forward to being with this great club in the years to come."

Quins boss Conor O'Shea added: "Chris is everything you want in a rugby player and everything that you would want as a person. He has achieved incredible things in his career to date.

"Chris is an exceptional ambassador and role model for the sport and deserves recognition for what he has done, and will continue to do, for this game; I'd like to thank him for his selfless dedication, humility and resilience. I'm sure everyone at Harlequins will be delighted with this announcement and will look forward to seeing Chris playing in a Harlequins and England shirt for many years to come."
