Former rugby league star Joel Tomkins has been handed his Saracens debut ahead of their Anglo-Welsh Cup clash with Worcester on Sunday.

The former Wigan Warrior takes his bow for Sarries at outside centre after joining the club back in November. He has found his game time limited to appearances for their second-string side the Storm but has now been handed the chance to showcase his skills against the Warriors.

And the Sale Sharks have handed out a debut of their own to England openside Hendre Fourie ahead of their match with Newcastle Falcons on Sunday. Fourie joined the Edgeley Park side last summer but was forced to undergo shoulder surgery back in September. Fourie had an injury-plagued summer of 2011 as he was also struggling with a hamstring strain but he is ready to take his bow for the Sharks and lines up alongside Mark Easter and Onasa'i Auva'a in the back-row in a side captained by Dwayne Peel.

Elsewhere, London Irish have recalled Kiwi Dan Bowden to the starting line-up for their trip to the Scarlets. He has suffered from a hip injury in recent times but is joined in the XV by Marland Yarde and Kieran Lowe - who have also recovered from their knocks.

And Bath have named Stuart Hooper as captain for their match against the Northampton Saints as he makes his way back into the squad after recovering from a broken arm. EPS member Lee Mears takes his spot on the bench after sitting out the majority of the season with a shoulder injury.

Wasps have announced a host of new signings this week and they hand out two debuts for their clash against the Exeter Chiefs on Saturday. Former Tigers wing Lee Robinson starts while Namibian lock Heinz Koll gets the nod in the forwards. And Gloucester have also handed out a debut to their short-term signing Ollie Phillips.
