Exeter have been given a boost with the news that both Hoani Tui and Jason Shoemark have put pen to paper on new two-year deals. The pair will stay at Sandy Park until the end of the 2013-14 season with with Tui looking to add to his 66 appearances since his arrival from Calvisano in 2009. Centre Shoemark has crossed the line twice for the Chiefs in 31 appearances. Coach Rob Baxter is hopeful that the pair's renewed commitment is the sign of things to come as he prepares his charges for their third season in the Aviva Premiership next term. "I'm a big believer that your retention policy in some ways is more important that your recruitment," Baxter said. "Making sure you keep the right players on board is obviously important for us. I feel we have got a good squad of players and good characters who have played a big part of our on-going success in getting to the Premiership and helping us establish ourselves. "I don't want to be making too many changes year on year and these two guys are a big part of things on and off the pitch." © ESPN Sports Media Ltd.
