Wasps' prospective owner Ken Moss hopes to complete the takeover of the Aviva Premiership club by the end of the month and has prioritised bringing in some major sponsors.

Wasps announced back in June that Moss' consortium was on the verge of completing their takeover of the side in a move which supporters of the Premiership side will hope bring an end to their off-field strife. With Wasps narrowly avoiding relegation last season, in part to a lengthy injury list, they are setting their sights up the league rather than worrying about the trapdoor to the Championship.

On the field they have bolstered their side with Italian star Andrea Masi along with proven fly-half Stephen Jones and Springboks No.8 Ashley Johnson. But Moss has his eyes firmly set on stabilising the club behind-the-scenes and has called on the supporters to play their part with enticing major sponsors one of his first tasks.

"We have come into this late but we are working extremely hard to get these in place for the start of the season," Moss said. "They will provide us with key investment but I must be clear that the consortium taking on ownership of the club are not doing so for emotional reasons. We are doing this for business reasons with our ambition being to stabilise the Club's finances and go forward from there.

"We have a strong handle on the costs of running the business but we need to stabilise the variables such as the match-day attendances. These have got to improve and we cannot do it without the fans."
